Full casting has been confirmed for the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch production.
Playing at the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch from the 22nd February, full casting for this revival has been confirmed.
Directed by Kirstie Davis, the production is set to star David Birch (Matilda the Musical, Cambridge Theatre), Michelle Bishop (Sunset Boulevard, London Coliseum), Adrian Klein (Memorial, Barbican Theatre), Joshua Lay (Funny Girl, UK Tour), Abigail Middleton (Wondertown, The Bohemians), Garry Robson (The Who’s Tommy, Ramps on the Moon) and Vicki Lee Taylor (Carousel, Arcola Theatre). They will also be joined by a community chorus of eight ballroom dancers.
Three young couples are striving for glory on the competitive dance circuit – having finally made it to Blackpool’s National Amateur Championships via the motorway hard shoulder.
But there’s pain and heartbreak beneath the dazzling glitter ball when you’re dancing to other people’s tunes and hiding secrets. And with the world at your feet, it only takes one false step…
Talking about the production writer Amanda Whittington said: ‘I’m delighted Kiss Me Quickstep will be dancing into the Queen’s Theatre. The show pulls back the glitter curtain on competitive dance, revealing what it takes to make a ballroom champion, on and off the floor. I can’t wait to see the new production hot-footing across the country, too.’
After the production completes its run at the Queen’s Theatre, it will then travel to Ipswich (13 – 23 March) and then will tour to Theatr Clwyd (26 – 30 March).
The creative team for the production includes: design by Jess Curtis, lighting design by Mark Dymock, sound design by James Cook and choreography by Lucie Pankhurst.
Kiss Me Quickstep will play at the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch from the 22nd February until the 9th March.
