The Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper film has debuted in  the number one spot on this week’s Official Film chart.

The hit musical drama which is nominated for eight Oscars has hit the charts in the number one position and in doing so matches the height of the Motion Picture Cast Recording for the film which reached Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart and has so far spent a total of 15 weeks in the Top 10.

Meanwhile, another Oscar nominated film Bohemian Rhapsody which is only available on download at the moment (available on DVD from the 4th March) takes the number two spot. Telling the story of Queen and its lead singer Freddie Mercury, it is nominated for five Oscars at this weekend’s ceremony.

Following close behind in number three position is the previous week’s chart topper Venom. Halloween (2018) makes its debut in the film charts at nmber four – based on digital downloads alone, with Johnny English sliding three spots to Number 5; The House With A Clock In Its Walls drops to Number 6.

At number 7, spooky sequel, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween also makes its debut based on downloads alone. Popular film The Greatest Showman slips down to number eight and The Predator lands at 9. Finally, Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish laugh their way back into the Top 10 as Night School climbs one place to return to the countdown at 10.
