Production images have been released ahead of the show officially opening at the Underbelly Festival tonight…
Contemporary circus troupe Gravity & Other Myths bring their show A Simple Space to the Underbelly Festival, featuring a new cast to headline the festival until the 5th May.
Seven acrobats push their physical limits without reserve in a simultaneously raw, frantic and delicate performance. Supported by driving live percussion and presented so intimately that you feel the heat, hear every breath, and feel like you’re on stage beside them.
Spectacularly soul-baring, this primal show will have you gripping the edge of your seat.
The new cast for the show includes Lisa Goldsworthy, previously with CIRCA. Goldsworthy is the first female Acrobatic Base in the show’s history, possessing the incredibly rare skill of being both a base and power tumbler. She is joined on stage by Annalise Moore, Ashleigh Pearce, Simon McClure, Andre Augustus, Benton Adams-Walker, Chris Carlos and Alex Flood (musician).
A Simple Space is the original production from Australian circus company Gravity & Other Myths (Backbone, Out of Chaos) which since premiering at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2013 has gone on to tour the world. Instead of the usual glamour, A Simple Space focuses on seven acrobats pushing their physical limits.
A Simple Space will continue to play at the Underbelly festival until the 5th May. For more information visit:http://www.underbellyfestival.com/whats-on/a-simple-space1
