Sean Foley’s production will play at the Theatre Royal Bath from the 5th to the 21st September before heading to London’s Wyndham’s Theatre from the 26th September.

Based on the Ealing Comedy classic, this world stage premiere is set to star Stephen Mangan and Kara Tointon as Sidney Stratton and Daphne Birnley respectively.

The 1951 Ealing comedy originally starred Alec Guinness, Joan Greenwood and Cecil Parker. It was directed by Alexander Mackendrick and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Writing (Screenplay).

When Sidney Stratton, played by Stephen Mangan, develops a fabric that never gets dirty and never wears out, manufacturers and trades unions are terrified by the threat it poses to their industry and their jobs. Only Daphne (Kara Tointon) the mill owner’s daughter, shows Stratton any sympathy as his world gradually falls apart before he finally finds love and a new idea.

This production will see Stephen Mangan and Sean Foley collaborating once more having created  the Olivier Award winning comedy Jeeves and Wooster together. The Man in the White Suit is set to feature set and costume design by Michael Taylor.

The Man in the White Suit will play at the Wyndham’s Theatre from the 26th September until the 11th January. To book tickets click here or visit: Love Theatre.com, Theatre Tickets Direct.co.uk, Encore Tickets, See Tickets, From the Box Office or Last Minute.com.
