Helping to get the festival season underway, John Lewis & Partners has announced the launch of its festival themed summer rooftop with live entertainment, music, comedy, street food and cocktails.

Launching on the 19th April and inspired by the nation’s love of music, food and entertainment, John Lewis & Partners has announced the launch of Roof Fest London at The Gardening Society.

Set up high above Oxford Street, the rooftop space set on top of John Lewis has had a festival makeover including bookable boho and flower dens, the Caravan stage, and a variety of cocktails and street food to sample.

Throughout the summer months, visitors to the rooftop will also be treated to headline performances from DJs, artists and acoustic musicians, while sampling Filipino food from Bong Bongs Manila Kanteen, formerly known as BBQ Dreamz, and refreshing cocktails from Background Bars.

Opening on the 19th April, Roof Fest London’s curated summer programme will see DJ sets taking over the roof every Friday and live entertainment on Saturday and Sunday to keep visitors partying throughout the summer.

Meanwhile, the food will be provided by BBQ Dreamz, who will be launching Bong Bong’s Manila Kanteen for this year’s Roof Fest London. Known for their authentic Filipino family recipes, festival goers will be treated to celebrated dishes such as the Lechon Kawali – Crispy Fragrant Pork Belly, Adobo Glazed Chicken, Grilled Aubergine Satay Curry and Asian Roots Salad.

It has also been announced that  John Lewis & Partners is introducing ‘walk-in Wednesdays’ to ensure people will have an opportunity to try the Filipino inspired delicacies on offer, even if they haven’t had a chance to book.  For those who prefer more intimate dining, an exclusive offering will be available for groups of four to ten in one of the bookable Dens, Boho, Garden and Cherry Blossom Dens or the Caravan Stage.

There will also be a variety of cocktails available to sip on thanks to Background Bars at Roof Fest London. Cocktails available will include: Summer of Love (£10.50) with Beefeater Gin, Elderflower, Lemon, Cucumber and Fentimans Soda, Chilli Margaritas, Pyramid Spritzs or the signature Roof Fest London cocktails (£10) made with Havana three year old rum, Banana Liquor, tangy passion fruit and mint.

Roof Fest London will take place on the rooftop at John Lewis on Oxford Street from the 19th April until the 29th September.
