NEWS: Lucie Jones and Ashley Roberts Join the Cast of Waitress

It has been confirmed that Ashley Roberts is set to make her West End debut alongside Lucie Jones in the London production from the 17th June.

Lucie Jones and Ashley Roberts will be joining the production for a strictly limited season, with Ashley Roberts playing the role of Dawn and Lucie Jones taking on the role of of Jenna.

Featuring original music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles, Waitress tells the story of Jenna, a waitress and expert pie-maker who dreams her way out of a loveless marriage. When a hot new doctor arrives in town, life gets complicated. With the support of her workmates Becky and Dawn, Jenna overcomes the challenges she faces and finds that laughter, love and friendship can provide the perfect recipe for happiness. 

Lucie Jones is well known for her performances in the West End having previously appeared as Cosette in Les Misérables (Queens Theatre), Maureen Johnson in RENT (The Other Palace and national tour), Elle Woods in Legally Blonde (national tour), Holly in The Wedding Singer (national tour) and Victoria in American Psycho The Musical (Almeida).

Singer Ashley Roberts will be making her West End debut in Waitress. She is best known for being a member of The Pussycat Dolls. To UK audiences, she is also best known for her appearances in  I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and more recently taking part in Strictly Come Dancing.

Currently booking until the 19th October, the London production of Waitress also stars Marisha Wallace as Becky, Peter Hannah as Earl, David Hunteras Dr. Pomatter and Shaun Prendergast as Old Joe. Laura Baldwin will return to the role of Dawn in Waitress at the end of the summer.

The production also includes: a book by Jessie Nelson, direction by Diane Paulus and choreography by Lorin Latarro.

On its Broadway opening, Waitress was nominated for four Outer Critics’ Circle Awards, including Outstanding New Broadway Musical; two Drama League Award Nominations, including Outstanding Production of a Broadway or Off-Broadway Musical; six Drama Desk Nominations, including Outstanding Musical; and four Tony Award Nominations, including Best Musical.
