The production will open at Bromley’s Churchill Theatre on the 28th August.
It has been confirmed that Kara Lily Hayworth is set to play Sally Bowles in the new UK tour of Kander and Ebb’s musical when it opens later this year. She is best known for having portrayed Cilla Black in Cilla the Musical, after she was discovered by Bill Kenwright during the show’s nationwide TV auditions.
Kara joins the previously announced John Partridge, who will play Emcee in the production. As well as being known for playing Christian Clarke in Eastenders, Partridge is also known for starring in musicals such as A Chorus Line, Chicago, and La Cage Aux Folles.
Talking about the news Kara said: “I owe a huge amount to Bill Kenwright! Back in 2017 when I first decided to go to the open auditions for Cilla, I had no idea how much my life would change. I had been working professionally for a long time, but this was a real turning point in my career, and I am so grateful to Bill for taking a chance on me. And now for him to trust me to take on another leading role (my absolute dream role) I feel so unbelievably lucky!”
This production is directed by Rufus Norris and has previously had two West End runs at the Lyric Theatre and the Savoy Theatre. Further casting for this new UK tour has yet to be announced.

The UK tour will open at Bromley’s Churchill Theatre on the 28th August before travelling to: Wolverhampton, Nottingham, Crawley, Chester, Dublin, Belfast, Leicester, Shrewsbury, Hull, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Malvern, Peterborough, Sunderland, Oxford, Wimbledon, Manchester, Leeds, Canterbury, Sheffield, Cardiff and Stoke – with further venues and dates yet to be announced.
