Now running at the Roundhouse, Backyard Cinema’s new theme brings the Californian sunshine to London. Here’s a sneak peak at what you can expect…
The themed cinema company have now officially opened its latest uniquely designed cinema experience at The Roundhouse. This new experience has transformed Camden’s Roundhouse into L.A.’s legendary Venice Beach over July and August.
Guests who are attending a screening can expect a rain-free experience and welcomed with palm trees, a retro beach bar, classic West Coast tunes and a sea of giant bean bags on the sand.
Extras in the experience includes adult only Slush Puppie cocktails, a pre show of musical mash-ups produced by DJ Jaguar Skills, bespoke vegan ice cream as well as its very own beer crafted by Gipsy Hill Brewing Company.
Meanwhile, film screenings include Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, The Lego Movie 2 and Captain Marvel, award-winning new releases including BlackkKlansman, A Star is Born and Stan and Ollie,Back to the Future, Clueless, The Greatest Showman, Dirty Dancing, Grease and Bohemian Rhapsody.
Elsewhere, Backyard Cinema’s famous ‘Sing-A-Long Beach Parties’ will invite ticket holders to jump up and join in with fellow cinema goers, singing their favourite movie soundtracks to their heart’s content, dancing freely in the sand.
While watching the film of their choice, visitors can sample Strawberry Daiquiri and Blueberry Gin & Tonic cocktails or sample a bespoke fruit sour beer for the event inspired by the classic cocktail; tequila sunrise. For those in need of cooling down they can sample the UK’s only plant based soft scoop ice cream by Dappa.
Backyard Cinema: L.A. Nights will take place at the Roundhouse until the 25th August.
