Having opened a new site on St Martin’s Lane, here’s a few good reasons why you should pay a visit to the Theatre Cafe if you haven’t already been…
Ideal place to chill and relax if you are a theatre fan: now this goes without saying really but if you are a theatre fan then this place will be like heaven for you – filled with musical theatre tunes playing in the background, musical theatre inspired drinks and so much more make this place worth a visit.
Live performances: excitingly, there are occasions in which the cafe welcomes casts from up and coming shows to perform a set as well as a brief Q&A to discuss the production. It is a wonderful way in which people get to hear from some of their favourite West End performers in an intimate style. As seen from the video above, recently Celinde Schoenmaker and Ramin Karimloo paid a visit to perform songs from the upcoming UK premiere of Doctor Zhivago.
Excellent range of musical theatre inspired drink and food: of course given that it is a cafe, you can purchase a wide range of food and drink at the cafe – with the hot drinks being inspired by musical theatre – including a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory hot chocolate or a My Fair Latte for example. Cakes and other food are also available to munch on to your hearts delight!
A warm and welcoming environment to sit and relax: if you are in need of somewhere to just come and chill and relax away from the hustle and bustle of the streets of London, the Theatre Cafe is a warm and friendly environment to escape. Yes, it is a very popular place so it does get busy, but it is still worth popping by to recharge your batteries. The staff are always helpful and offer a good level of customer service – as well as occasionally singing along to some of the songs playing in the background!
Filled to the brim with theatre memorabilia: for me personally, a big thrill of paying a visit to the Theatre Cafe is to see all of the theatre memorabilia dotted around the venue, reflecting the best of London theatre in all its glory, adding to the buzz of being there perfectly.
