The musical based on the life of Princess Diana had its world premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego earlier this year.
It has been confirmed that the new musical written by Joe DiPietro and David Bryan will be heading to Broadway’s Longacre Theater from the 2nd March 2020.
Having premiered at San Diego’s La Jolla Playhouse earlier this year, Christopher Ashley’s (Come From Away) production will see Jeanna de Waal reprising her role as Princess Diana in the Broadway transfer. She will be joined in the production by Roe Hartrampfas as Prince Charles, Erin Davie as Camilla Parker Bowles and Judy Kaye as Queen Elizabeth – all of who are recreating their roles from the original run.
The musical follows Princess Diana’s life from her marriage to Prince Charles and beyond to become one of the most famous women in the world and the legacy she left behind.
As well as being directed by Christopher Ashley, the production’s creative team includes music supervision and arrangements by Olivier Award-winner Ian Eisendrath, choreography from Kelly Devine and costume design by William Ivey Long.
