Hi Anita, could you explain for those who don’t know what is Two Trains Running about? Ok for me Two Trains running is about how the older generation and younger generation of African- Americans are responding and reacting to urban renewal that is happening in Pittsburgh at the same time as and racial oppression and subsequent uprisings are happening throughout America.

Given what the play is about it seems entirely appropriate that it is being revived now. What do you think we can take away from the play in 2019? I think the play tells us that we still have a lot to learn from one another. And that it’s important to know your history because that can influence your future.

What was it about the play that caught your attention?I had heard of August Wilson’s work and I have seen a number of his plays and I am a fan of his work. I love how unapologetic Wilson is with his writing. Also my character Risa might not say much but I think that deliberate of Wilson because what she does say speaks volumes.

How has it been working alongside Nancy Medina? Working with Nancy is really wonderful. She is so focused on detail and passionate about the play that her approach is infectious. I love it.

What are you most looking forward to about touring this production? Audiences responses.

What can audiences expect from this production of Two Trains Running? Laughter, Love and a sense of raw honesty.
