Love London Love Culture’s Broadway Picks: September 2019

Here’s a guide to a few of the shows that Love London Love Culture wants the most to see…

Sea Wall/ A Life, Hudson Theatre: on until the end of September, Jake Gyllenhaal and Tom Sturridge star in Carrie Cracknell’s production.

Meet Alex, a photographer on a holiday with his family in the south of France. Meet Abe, a music producer with a baby on the way. Two men – both fathers, husbands, and sons – take us on a journey you will never forget.

The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, Longacre Theatre: this musical adaptation based on Rick Riordan’s original story and characters will be heading to Broadway later this month.

As a son of Poseidon, Percy Jackson has newly discovered powers he can’t control, monsters on his trail, and is on a quest to find Zeus’ lightning bolt to prevent a war between the Greek gods.

Betrayal, Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre: following a successful run in the West End, Tom Hiddleston, Charlie Cox and Zawe Ashton reprise their roles in Jamie Lloyd’s production of Harold Pinter’s play for a limited run.

Hailed as one of Pinter’s greatest works, the drama tells the story of a long relationship between married couple Emma and Robert, told in reverse chronology.

Oklahoma! Circle in the Square Theatre: this Tony Award winning revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s musical is directed by Daniel Fish and stars Damon Daunno as Curly, Rebecca Naomi Jones as Laurey Williams and Patrick Vaill as Jud.
