Due to popular demand, it has been announced that Dotdotdot’s immersive version of Jeff Wayne’s The War of The Worlds is now booking until the 3rd January 2020.
Combining cutting-edge technology (virtual reality, augmented reality and volumetric holograms) with live performances and stunning surroundings, this immersive experience is a unique way to discover HG Well’s dark Victorian tale and Jeff Wayne’s iconic musical work.
Guests can grab a drink and something to eat in the Steampunk-themed restaurant and bar with a larger-than-life Martian Fighting Machine staring down at them. Split into two acts, and includes an interval in the exclusive Red Weed bar where you can enjoy a drink and listen to extended versions of Jeff Wayne’s, ‘The Red Weed’.
Having launched in May, the experience sees guests attempt to survive the Martian invasion through the multisensory experience which combines immersive theatre, virtual reality, augmented reality, holograms and other cutting-edge technology. With the help from live and virtual actors throughout, groups of up to 12 walk, crawl and travel through 1898.
Talking about the news of the extension, Andrew McGuinness, CEO of dotdotdot said: “The interest we have had in our immersive experience has been overwhelming. With technology that some have never seen before, and live acting that pulls you in to the story, this is such a memorable night out that we are genuinely proud of creating. We are so excited to be in a position in which we can extend our run.”
