Rehearsal images have been released for the UK premiere of the musical which will plat at the Union Theatre from the 30th October. Here’s a glimpse of what has been happening…
Presented by Lockwood Productions and Fools & Kings, The Green Fairy will be making its UK premiere this month when performances start at the Union Theatre from the 30th October.
The musical, featuring book, music and lyrics by Jack Sain and Stephen Libby is a story following one woman’s struggle to regain control of her life.
Tonight, Jo saw her daughter Wendy sing for the first time in the pub where she used to work – they don’t seem to have a relationship. Jo doesn’t seem to have a relationship with anyone really, and the Green Fairy wants to know where it all went wrong…
Memories start to surface of Jo’s adolescence and early adulthood in 1990s London. Together, they explore Jo’s relationship with her ex-girlfriend, ex-husband and eventually her daughter.
The cast for this UK premiere directed by Jack Sain with musical direction by William Bullivant is set to include: Julie Atherton (Jo), Harry F Brown (Toby), Georgina Hellier (The Green Fairy), Emma Kinney (Wendy), David Perkins (Daniel) and Emma Whittaker (Young Jo).
Meanwhile, the creative team includes dramaturg and associate writer Hannah Hauer-King and set and costume design by Katharine Heath.
The Green Fairy will play at the Union Theatre from the 30th October until the 23rd November.
