PREVIEW: The Winter Carnival, John Lewis & Partners, Oxford Street

It has been confirmed that the John Lewis based on Oxford Street will be launching its own winter carnival on its roof top.

Launching on the 18th October and running until the 5th January 2020, John Lewis & Partners on Oxford street will be hosting its own winter carnival filled with curling, fairground fun, coffee inspired cocktails and Americana street food.

As one of the largest roof gardens in London, John Lewis and Partners are celebrating the festive season with food, drink and entertainment above Oxford Street. With plenty of places to pose for a Instagram moment to cosy and private dens (named House of Fortune, House of Mirrors and Google Nest) to hire and enjoy while playing games and listening to music.

Those visiting, can expect to enjoy the Curling lane, ‘the Google way’. With a mounted Google Pixel, specifically designed to take night sight imagery, guest can capture their games at any time of the day. Or for a bit of classic fairground fun people can have a go on the free Google Claw Machine which  will have guests reaching for the prizes, with the likes of Google Nest products up for grabs and a Google Pixel phone won each week.

For those wishing to capture plenty of pictures, the rooftop will also present a static fairground horses and bumper cars, while Philips Hue Lily up-lighters will be discreetly placed around the garden, washing everything with a winter glow.

Meanwhile, the Americana style food available will be provided by Jimmy Garcia, who as seen on Sunday Brunch, This Morning, The Saturday Show and Food Junkies, will be offering a variety of dishes including Popcorn Shrimp, Deep-Fried Wallys and Loaded Corn Dog for example. Set inside the rooftop restaurant, bedecked with gold mirrors and lighting, guests will be able to book a table online or turn up on the day.

Meanwhile, Sage Appliances will be hosting a pop-up bar, offering festive coffee cocktails all season long, and to cure those back-to-work blues, every Tuesday, they will be running a Coffee Masterclass in the House of Lights. The coffee masterclass is available for groups of six people at a time and will run from 6:00-7:00pm from 12th November to 17th December. Meanwhile, rooftop residents Background Bars, will be back with a delicious variety of cocktails.
