Rehearsal images for Tom Morris’s production of Touching the Void have been released ahead of the production beginning previews at the Duke of York’s Theatre on the 9th November.
The production arrives in the West End following runs at the Bristol Old Vic, Royal & Derngate, Northampton, Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh as well as a UK tour. It also marks the 30th anniversary since the release of Joe Simpson’s memoir.
This extraordinary story charts Joe Simpson’s and Simon Yates’ struggle for survival on the perilous Siula Grande mountain in the Peruvian Andes. Life-affirming and often darkly funny, David Greig’s thrilling adaptation of Touching The Void takes the audience on an epic adventure that asks how far you’d be willing to go to survive.
Meanwhile, the cast for Tom Morris’s production is set to include Fiona Hampton, Patrick McNamee and Josh Williams who are reprising their roles in the show and will be joined by Angus Yellowlees.
Based on Joe Simpson’s memoir of the same name, Touching the Void has been adapted for the stage by The Lyceum’s David Greig (The Events, The Suppliant Women, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). Meanwhile, the creative team for the production also includes: designs by Ti Green, sound design and composer Jon Nicholls, lighting design by Chris Davey and movement direction by Sasha Milavic Davies.
Touching the Void will play at the Duke of York’s Theatre from the 9th November until the 29th February 2020. To book tickets click here or visit: Encore Tickets, See Tickets, ATG Tickets ,Love Theatre.com, From the Box Office, Last Minute.com or Theatre Tickets Direct.co.uk.
