The Bridge Theatre has announced four new shows heading to the venue in 2020.

Four new productions have been announced for the Bridge Theatre, scheduled to run until April 2021.

It has been announced that Polly Findlay will direct Roger Allam and Colin Morgan in Caryl Churchill’s play A Number, which will run at the theatre from the 14th February until the 14th March.

The theatre is also set to present the stage adaptation of Philip Pullman’s The Book of Dust – La Belle Sauvage, directed by Nicholas Hytner. Set twelve years before his Dark Materials series, this novel has been adapted by Bryony Lavery, whose previous work includes Frozen as well as Stockholm, Kursk, Dirt and Beautiful Burnout. The production will run from the 11th July until 10th October.

This production will then be followed by Marianne Elliott and Steven Hoggett’s co-directed production of They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?. This new play by Paula Vogel based on the novel by Horace McCoy will run at the Bridge Theatre from the 31st October until the 30th January 2021.

The final production to be announced will see Simon Russell Beale playing the title role in Henrik Ibsen’s John Gabriel Borkman in a new version by Lucinda Coxon, directed by Nicholas Hytner. The play will run at the theatre from the 11th February 2021 until the 17th April 2021.
