This first production in the Jamie Lloyd Company’s year long season at the Playhouse Theatre is based on Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac, which has been freely adapted for this production by Martin Crimp.

The cast for the production is led by James McAvoy in the title role with the cast also including: Michele Austin (Ragueneau), Adam Best (Le Bret), Sam Black (Armand/Priest), Nari Blair Mangat (Valvert), PhilipCairns (Referee), Tom Edden (De Guiche), EbenFigueiredo (Christian), Chris Fung (Usher), Adrian Der Gregorian (Montfleury), Carla Harrison-Hodge (Denise/Medic), Seun Shote (Theatre Owner), KirunaStamell (Marie-Louise), NimaTaleghani (Ligniere), and Anita-Joy Uwajeh (Roxane) with Vaneeka Dadhria, Mika Johnson and Brinsley Terence.

Fierce with a pen and notorious in combat, Cyrano almost has it all – if only he could win the heart of his true love. There’s just one big problem: he has a nose as huge as his heart. Will a society engulfed by narcissism get the better of De Bergerac – or can his mastery of language set Roxane’s world alight?

As well as being directed by Jamie Lloyd, the creative team for Cyrano de Bergerac includes:  design by Soutra Gilmour, lighting design by Jon Clark, sound and composition by Ben and Max Ringham and fight direction by Kate Waters.
