Josie Rourke’s Donmar production will transfer to the Garrick Theatre from the 5th March.

It has been announced the BRIT Award winning singer Nicola Roberts is set to make her stage debut in Josie Rourke’s production of the musical City of Angels, when it begins performances at the Garrick Theatre next year.

Nicola Roberts will be playing the role of Avril/Mallory in the West End production, joining the previously announced Hadley Fraser (Les Misérables, Young Frankenstein), Rosalie Craig (Company), Rebecca Trehearn (Showboat) and Emmy and Grammy Award nominee Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives), making her West End debut. 

Talking about joining the cast Nicola said: “I am delighted that Josie and the production have chosen me to be Mallory for City of Angels. To make my acting debut in this show and to work with such a fantastic company of actors and Josie Rourke is a dream come true for me.”

The cast is also set to include: Marc Elliott, Emily Mae, Cindy Beliot, Michelle Bishop, Nick Cavaliere, Rob Houchen, Manuel Pacific, Mark Penfold, Ryan Reid, Joshua St Clair & Sadie-Jean Shirley. Further casting is set to be announced soon.     

Meanwhile, as well as being directed by Josie Rourke, the production’s creative team includes: choreography by Stephen Mear, design by Robert Jones, lighting design by   Howard Harrison, sound design by Terry Jardine and Nick Lidster for Autograph and video design by Duncan McLean.
