The new exhibition is now open at The O2 and booking until the 31st August 2020. Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect…
Presented by Entertainment Exhibitions International (UK) Ltd (EEI), in association with ABBA The Museum in Stockholm, Super Troupers The Exhibition offers Abba fans the chance to explore each band member’s history.
Featuring numerous personal objects and photographs, the immersive exhibition will bring to life the the world of the chart-topping Swedish band, formed of Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid (“Frida”) Lyngstad. It is an experience that aims to chart their music, lyrics, creative process and influence of ABBA.
The exhibition has been created and curated by Jude Kelly CBE, former artistic director at The Southbank Centre and examines the band’s rise to stardom through a series of atmospheric rooms, exploring each of ABBA’s eight multi-million selling albums, alongside the band’s personal and public journey.
Super Troupers the Exhibition will include objects from ABBA The Museum and other archives, some of which have not previously been on display in the UK. It will incorporate lyrics, costumes, instruments, experiential backdrops of the key events and locations that defined and shaped the band, album artwork, photography and film.
Some of the highlights of the display includes: A limited-edition replica of the ‘Star Guitar’ played at Eurovision ’74, signed by all four members, a life-size replica of the scoreboard that saw ABBA secure Eurovision Song Contest victory, and a collection of exquisitely designed, image-defining costumes and personal clothing.
