NEWS: Andy Nyman and Jenna Russell Join Cast of Hello Dolly!

The production will begin performances at the Adelphi Theatre on the 11th August.

Producers Michael Harrison and David Ian have announced that Andy Nyman and Jenna Russell are set to join Imelda Staunton in Dominic Cooke’s production of Hello Dolly!

Featuring a score by Jerry Herman and a book by Michael Stewart, this new production of the classic musical will open for previews at the Adelphi Theatre on the 11th August.

Andy Nyman is set to play Horace Vandergelder in the production. His stage credits include recently starring in the acclaimed revival of Fiddler on the Roof at the Playhouse Theatre as well as at the Menier Chocolate Factory.

Jenna Russell will play Irene Molloy in Dominic Cooke’s production. Her recent stage credits include starring in the UK premiere of The Bridges of Madison County. She won an Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 2006 for her performance in Sunday In The Park With George at the Menier Chocolate Factory (a performance she later reprised on Broadway) and was nominated for her work in the Menier’s 2012 revival of Merrily We Roll Along. She also appeared in the acclaimed, London premiere production of Fun Home the Young Vic.

They join the previously announced Imelda Staunton as the socialite turned matchmaker Dolly Levi, as she travels to Yonkers, New York to find a match for the miserly, unmarried ‘half-a-millionaire’ Horace Vandergelder. But everything changes when she decides that the next match she needs to make is for herself.

Further casting for the production will be announced soon.
