Temi Wilkey’s debut play will premiere at the Bush Theatre from the 8th February.
Directed by Daniel Bailey, casting has been confirmed for the upcoming world premiere of The High Table. The production is set to star: Stefan Adegbola, Jumoké Fashola, Ibinabo Jack, Cherrelle Skeete, and David Webber, alongside musician Mohamed Gueye.
The dresses are chosen, the venue’s booked and the RSVPs are flooding in. But Tara’s perfect Nigerian wedding to her girlfriend Leah is suddenly derailed when her parents refuse to attend.
High above London, suspended between the stars, three of Tara’s ancestors are jolted from their eternal rest. Can these representatives of generations passed keep the family together? And will Tara’s decision ever get their blessing?
This new family drama is the debut play from actor and writer Temi Wilkey. Having trained as an actor at National Youth Theatre REP company, her previous stage credits includes: Hamlet and Cymbeline (RSC), Jubilee (Manchester Royal Exchange & Lyric Hammersmith) and Land Without Dreams (Gate Theatre).
The High Table will play at the Bush Theatre from the 8th February until the 21st March, before transferring to the Birmingham Rep Theatre from 25th March – 9th April 2020.
