Casting has been confirmed for the upcoming London revival of Lucy Prebble’s play.

Playing at the Boulevard Theatre from the 19th March, casting has been announced for the upcoming London revival of Lucy Prebble’s play. Directed by Anthony Neilson, the production is set to star: Eric Kofi Abrefa plays Tristan Frey, Christine Entwisle will play Lorna James, Tim McMullan will play Toby Sealey and Kate O’Flynn will play Connie Hall.
The play won the Critics’ Circle Award for Best New Play when it opened at the National Theatre in 2012 and focuses on putting modern medicine under the microscope.
Connie and Tristan meet; symptoms develop. Racing hearts. Lost appetites. Erratic emotions. Is this the frenzy of falling in love, or simply side effects from the new anti-depressant drug they’re testing? Addiction comes hard and fast. But have the clinicians running the trial lost control?
Lucy Prebble’s other plays include: A Very Expensive Poison (Old Vic), ENRON (Chichester, Royal Court, West End) and The Sugar Syndrome (Royal Court).
Anthony Neilson’s previous credits as writer and director include The Tell-Tale Heart (National Theatre), The Prudes and Unreachable (Royal Court).
The creative team for the production includes: designs by Natasha Jenkins, lighting design by Nigel Edwards and sound design by Helen Skiera.
The Effect will play at the Boulevard Theatre from the 19th March until the 30th May.
