Love London Love Culture’s Show Picks of the Week: Monday 9th March

Here’s LLLC’s guide to some of the must-book tickets at the moment…

Pretty Woman the Musical, Piccadilly Theatre: it may have divided the critics but Love London Love Culture loved the music and the way in which this classic film was presented on stage. Danny Mac and Aimie Atkinson made the perfect chemistry for Edward and Vivian as well as pitch perfect vocals that really added heart to this story.

The Seagull, Playhouse Theatre: given the success of Jamie Lloyd’s production of Cyrano de Bergerac, you may want to book your tickets now to catch Emilia Clarke in her West End debut in Anya Reiss’ adaptation of Chekhov’s classic play.

The Prince of Egypt, Dominion Theatre: another new musical to hit London recently that has divided critics and based on the animated film, LLLC loved the sheer scale and ambition of this production. Filled with epic visuals and a fantastic cast – this show has plenty to recommend it.

The Upstart Crow, Gielgud Theatre: based on the BBC series, this hilarious stage adaptation starring David Mitchell is only on for a limited season so if you want to see it – don’t miss out!

Magic Mike Live, Hippodrome Casino: having just recently announced an extension in London, if you are looking for a great girls night out this will be it!

Shoe Lady, Royal Court Theatre: on for a limited three week run, make sure you don’t miss Katherine Parkinson in this production of E.V Crowe’s play!

Hello Dolly! Adelphi Theatre: with a stunning cast announced recently, led by Imelda Staunton, now is a great time to book tickets to see Dominic Cooke’s production. The production sees the director and actress reuniting for the first time since their collaboration on Follies at the National Theatre.

The Play That Goes Wrong, Duchess Theatre: the title might suggest something is going wrong but something is going very right for The Play That Goes Wrong at the Duchess Theatre now booking until 2021!
