With everywhere on lockdown, here’s a guide to some of the films that will be available to download or buy on DVD or Blu-ray soon…

Jumanji: The Next Level: set for release on download from the 4th April, this sequel to the 2017 reboot sees the likes of Dwayne Johnson,Jack Black and Kevin Hart all reprising their roles in this latest adventure. The film sees the original gang of teenagers return to Jumanji once more to face a brand new villain.

Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker: this last episode in the Skywalker saga produced, co-written and directed by J.J Abrams is set to be available to download on the 13th April.

JoJo Rabbit: this quirky comedy-drama based on
Caging Skies
by Christine Leunens will be available to download from the 27th April. It follows the story of Johannes “Jojo” Betzler who discovers that his mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their attic. The film was nominated for six Oscars including Best Picture.

1917: this hugely acclaimed film directed by Sam Mendes, won three Academy Awards at this year’s ceremony. Set during World War One, the film stars George MacKay and Dean-Charles Chapman as two soldiers sent on a mission to prevent a scheduled attack which would put the lives of 1,600 men in danger. It will be available to download from the 4th May.

Little Women: this new adaptation of Louisa May Allcott’s beloved classic novel, written and directed by Greta Gerwig will be available to download and watch from the 11th May. This coming of age story stars  Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Laura Dern, Timothée Chalamet and Meryl Streep.

The Personal History of David Copperfield: written and directed by  Armando Iannucci and based on the novel David Copperfield by Charles Dickens, this film charts the life of the title character as he grows up from a life of being abused into becoming a gentleman.
