NEWS: Southwark Playhouse Launches New Online Streaming Service

Southwark Playhouse have today announced its new online streaming service #SouthwarkStayhouse.

Launching today, this new service provided by Southwark Playhouse will initially present three different productions.

The first video and production to be showcased is the world premiere production of the new British musical Wasted which ran at the theatre in October and November 2018. It was directed by Adam Lenson and features music by Christopher Ash and book and lyrics by Carl Miller. The musical follows the highs and lows of the Bronte sisters and starred  Siobhan Athwal, Natasha Barnes, Matthew Jacobs Morgan and Molly Lynch.

The service also includes the venue’s 2019 production of Twelfth Night, which played at the theatre in January 2019. Directed by Anna Girvan, it was performed as part of the Southwark Playhouse’s Shakespeare for Schools initiative. The cast included Becky Barry, Aruhan Galieva, Sapphire Joy, Caroline Parker, Liv Spencer and Luke Wilson.

The third production announced to be part of the #Southwarkstayhouse service is the 2011 production of Bound – written and directed by Jesse Briton. The play follows the story of six trawlermen from Devon as they embark on one final voyage.
