The new revival of the musical was set to play at the Eventim Apollo from July.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, it has been announced that the upcoming production of Sister Act will now be postponed until 2021, becoming the first show that was due to open this year to be moved until next year.
The production, which was set to star Academy Award winner Whoopi Goldberg as Deloris Van Cartier and Jennifer Saunders as Mother Superior, will now open at the Eventim Apollo from the 20th July 2021, running until the 29th August 2021.
Based on the iconic movie, this sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, sisterhood and music tells the hilarious story of the disco diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a murder. Under protective custody she is hidden in the one place she won’t be found – a convent! Disguised as a nun and under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own.
The musical features music from eight-time Academy Award-winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater. Sister Act the musical also features a book by Cheri and Bill Steinkellner, with additional material by Douglas Carter Beane.
Meanwhile, the creative team for the production includes direction by Bill Buckhurst, with choreography by Alistair David, set and costume design by Morgan Large, lighting design by Tim Mitchell, sound design by Tom Marshall and musical supervision by Stephen Brooker.
Ticket holders will not need to do anything with regards to changing their tickets as they will be valid for the equivalent performances in 2021.
