NEWS: The Seagull and A Doll’s House to Rescheduled

Jamie Lloyd’s productions that were due to be performed at the Playhouse Theatre this year are to rescheduled.

It has been confirmed that The Seagull set to star Emilia Clarke and A Doll’s House starring Jessica Chastain will run in the West End when theatres reopen. Dates for both productions have yet to be announced.

Talking about the news, director Jamie Lloyd said: “This is, of course, an incredibly challenging time for everyone, but we are looking forward to presenting our season to audiences in the future. I’m thrilled that Emilia Clarke and Jessica Chastain will lead The Seagull and A Doll’s House as soon as we can get back into the theatre. We also remain committed to offering thousands of £15 and free tickets, together with our unique education work and our exciting new Emerge scheme, as soon as the season reopens.”

Emilia Clarke will star as Nina in Anya Reiss’s adaptation of Chekhov’s The Seagull, which had played a few performances at the Playhouse Theatre before the lockdown was announced. Meanwhile, Jessica Chastain will lead the cast in Frank McGuinness’ production of A Doll’s House.

The creative team for The Seagull includes design by Soutra Gilmour, lighting design by Jackie Shemesh, composition and sound design by George Dennis, costume supervision by Anna Josephs and props supervision by Fahmida Bakht.

Meanwhile, the creative team for A Doll’s House is set to include design by Soutra Gilmour, lighting design by Jon Clark, and composition and sound design by Ben and Max Ringham.
