NEWS: Petite Pantos Announces Mama G’s Family Pride Party

The online event will take place on Sunday 12th July from 9am.

Petite Pantos and Lemon Jelly Creative have announced that Mama G’s Family Pride Party will take place next month.

Mama G normally travels across the UK to tell children and their families stories about being who you are and loving who you want. However, f following on from the success of online Story Time With Mama G Facebook live sessions during lockdown, Mama G is now taking one step further. Sadly, lots of pride festivals have been cancelled but the message of Pride shouldn’t be, so Mama G will be hosting a digital pride event through her Facebook page.

The event is entirely aimed at families and will include a wide variety of participants that celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community. Audiences can dip in and out of events throughout the day to find events and activities they will enjoy at the times that suit family needs and routines. The schedule will be released soon and will include activities (such as Yoga, Sports, Dance and Arts & Crafts) and performances including Drag, Comedy, Storytelling and songs.

Acts who have already been announced to take part in the event include: 90’s pop star Lolly, writer, poet and performer Dean Atta, official illustrator of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Dom&Ink, West End singer Zoë Tyler, family favourite Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, star of CBBC’s Swashbuckle Joseph Elliott, The Voice’s Nate James and, of course, Mama G.

Taking place on the 12th July, Mama G’s Family Pride Party is taking place to help raise funds for the charity Mermaid, a UK wide charity that supports transgender  or gender non-conforming youth and their families. Mermaid’s overarching aim is to create a world where gender diverse children and young people can be themselves and thrive.
