The orchestra has announced it will return to the Royal Festival Hall to present a full Autumn season of concerts.
The London Philharmonic Orchestra has confirmed details for its Autumn season of concerts to be filmed at the Royal Festival Hall, titled In the Stream of Life.
Taking place from the 30th September to the 30th December, the orchestra is aiming to perform these concerts in front of a live audience and will mark the first symphonic concerts to take place at the Royal Festival Hall since March.
International audiences will also be able to experience each of the concerts via Marquee TV. The concerts will be filmed and imaginatively envisioned in high-quality cinematic style by production team Silent Studios, making a virtue of an empty Royal Festival Hall to provide both a sense of space and intimate detail that is not normally possible.

Commenting on the news the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s Chief Executive David Burke said: ‘London’s role as the Cultural Capital of the World will not be diminished by this pandemic. The return of the London Philharmonic to its home at the Royal Festival Hall and the presentation of a full Autumn season shows that London’s fabled spirit is as alive as ever.’
Throughout lockdown, the orchestra has still been providing entertainment for audiences through its LPOnline digital output, reaching thousands of people with free performances (such as the Summer Sessions chamber concerts from the Orchestra’s rehearsal venue Henry Wood Hall), insight videos and Lean In and Listen, an Instagram series focussed on wellbeing which saw the Orchestra work with celebrities such as Dermot O’Leary, Fearne Cotton and Russell Brand.
