Alexandra Palace has announced details of what to expect from Christmas at Ally Pally this year.
One of the highlights at this year’s Christmas at Ally Pally is theatre company Tall Stories bringing its production of The Gruffalo’s Child to the venue’s theatre from the 5th December until the 3rd January 2021.
Based on the much-loved picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, The Gruffalo’s Child, this musical adaptation is suitable for those aged three and above.
Meanwhile, on the way to the theatre, festive lights, Christmas trees and decorations will transform the Palace’s East Court and is where you will find santa’s grotto. Due to social distancing and restrictions in place, the experience has been adapted to include one way system and suitable distance put between santa and the children.
Those who are looking to do some ice skating, Alexandra Palace’s ice rink will also return from the 5th December with social distancing measures in place.
The theatre will also be the place for visitors looking to catch a Christmas film, with a programme that will run across three weeks. Films that people can catch include: Miracle on 34 th Street, Elf, Santa Claus the Movie and Die Hard among others.
