NEWS: Six the Musical Extends Run at the Lyric Theatre

It has been announced that the musical will now play at the Lyric Theatre for an additional eleven weeks.

It has been confirmed that while theatres await news from the Government on the new tiering system and which tier that London will fall into,  there will be 11 additional weeks to catch Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss’s smash hit before it returns to the Arts Theatre – even if there is another delay.

The show is currently set to open at the theatre on the 5th December and if it goes ahead will be the first West End musical to re-open in the West End since theatres closed in March.

It is also hoped that the UK Touring cast will resume their delayed performances at the Lowry in Salford from Friday December 4, 2020 for the Christmas season if Salford avoids being designated a Tier 3 borough of Greater Manchester.

The cast for the London production is set to include Jarnéia Richard-Noel, Courtney Bowman, Natalie Paris, Alexia McIntosh, Sophie Isaacs, Danielle Steers, Zara Macintosh, Cherelle Jay, Hana Stewart and Collette Guitart.

SIX producers Kenny Wax, Wendy & Andy Barnes and George Stiles say, “We have been thrilled and overwhelmed by the response for tickets. Audiences are obviously desperate to get back to the theatre. We hope that after several false starts we will be able to proceed in London and Salford as planned.”

The musical will play nine shows a week at the Lyric Theatre in London where capacity has been reduced to 50% to comply with the latest COVID-19 Secure guidelines for social distancing plus robust risk mitigation. In addition to hand sanitation, face coverings and track and trace, other measures will include contactless tickets, temperature testing and the deep clean and sanitation of the theatre.

Six is written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, with direction by Moss and Jamie Armitage. The creative team also includes choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille, set design by Emma Bailey, costume design by Gabriella Slade, lighting design by Tim Deiling, sound design by Paul Gatehouse, musical orchestration by Tom Curran, musical supervision by Joe Beighton, casting by Pearson Casting, associate choreography by Freya Sands, musical direction by Katy Richardson and associate musical direction by Ellie Verkerk.
