Rehearsal images have been released today for the upcoming production of Alan Menken, Lynn Ahrens and Mike Ockrent’s musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol.
Photographs have been released from the rehearsal room for the upcoming musical staged concert of A Christmas Carol which will begin performances at the Dominion Theatre from the 7th December.
The production is set to star Brian Conley, Jacqueline Jossa, Matt Jay-Willis, Lucie Jones, Sandra Marvin and Cedric Neal. They will be joined on stage by Martyn Ellis, Rebecca Lock,Sam Oladeinde and Jeremy Secomb will be Simbi Akande, Will Arundell, Nicole-Lily Baisden, Lizzie Bea, Joshua Gannon, James Gant, Shirley Jameson, Kurt Kansley, Alex Lodge, Matthew McDonald, Minal Patel, Jemma Revell, Rebecca Ridout and Lee Van Geleen.
The show is also set to feature three teams of children on rotation. The role of Tiny Tim will be shared by William Barker, Osian Salter and Brodie Edwards, while the remaining children’s roles will be shared by Victoria Alsina, Delilah Bennett-Cardy, Asanda Abbie Masike, Charlie Mclellan, Nicholas Parris, Gabriel Payne, Angelica-Pearl Scott, Sasha Watson-Lobo and Katherine Wilson.
Telling the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, a mean-spirited miser who does not believe in the power of Christmas. But on a Christmas Eve filled with memorable characters, spectacular songs, ghostly apparitions and journeys to the past, present and future, Scrooge acknowledges his mistakes and discovers the joy of redemption.
The production is produced by Freddie Tapner for theLondon Musical Theatre Orchestra and Gary England. Meanwhile, the creative team is led by Shaun Kerrison, who has helmed several previous concert productions for LMTO (A Christmas Carol, Mack and Mabel, Candide) as well as BBC Proms My Fair Lady and Kiss Me, Kate, with Freddie Tapner (founder of LMTO) as Musical Director. Sound Design is by Nick Lidster for Autograph (Jesus Christ Superstar, The Band), Design is by Dora Schweitzer (The Wipers Times), Musical Staging is by Tim Jackson (Merrily We Roll Along, The Season), Lighting Design is by Mike Robertson (Sunday in the Park with George), Projection Design is by George Reeve (Six Broadway, Rogers and Hammersteins’s Cinderella) and Casting is by Jim Arnold CDG (Wicked, The Prince of Egypt).
