Love London Love Culture’s Festive Picks for 2020

Here’s a guide to some of the events taking place in and around the capital to mark the Christmas season….

Christmas at Ally Pally: whether it is watching a festive film, taking your little ones to see The Gruffalo’s Child or paying a visit to Santa’s grotto, Alexandra Palace has you covered this Christmas season.

Christmas Festivities at the Old Royal Naval College: why not take a trip to Greenwich to pay a visit to the Old Royal Naval College to wonder around its Christmas market or admire the Christmas tree in the upper grand square. There will even be late night access to visit the Painted Hall – the tickets include a delicious warming winter meal and a free Christmas present.

Pop Up Screens: Cinema in the Snow: from the 3rd December, Pop Up Cinemas bring back its festive experience that will show Christmas films such as Elf, Frozen 2 and Muppet Christmas Carol. The experience begins when audiences walk through a magical wardrobe to discover an enchanting snow-filled winter wonderland before grabbing a mulled wine and relaxing with a film screening.

Voces8: Live From London Christmas: for those wishing to stay indoors but enjoy some music live from their own home, this series of 15 concerts will be filmed live n VOCES8’s church in the heart of the city and from venues across the world. The concerts will feature performances from The Tallis Scholars, Take 6, I Fagiolini, The Choir of Westminster Abbey, London Adventist Chorale, ANÚNA, amarcord, The Aeolians, and Apollo5.

Winterland: travel to an Alpine winter wonderland with this experience where you can enjoy mulled wine in a heated chalet, sip prosecco on a ski lift or feast on fondue in your own private igloo at this pop-up ski club in Fulham.
