NEWS: An American in Paris to Be Streamed as Part of The Shows Must Go On! Series

The Broadway and West End show will be streamed for free through The Shows Must Go On! series this weekend.

Forming The Shows Must Go On’s new Tony Award Winners season, An American in Paris will be made available to watch for free for 48 hours this weekend.

Directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, this recording of the musical stars Robert Fairchild as Jerry Mulligan and Leanne Cope as Lise Dassin alongside Haydn Oakley as Henri Baurel, Zoë Rainey as Milo Davenport, David Seadon-Young as Adam Hochberg and Jane Asher as Madame Baurel.

Featuring music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin, including the songs ‘‘S Wonderful” and ‘I Got Rhythm’, the story follows the romance between Jerry and Lise as they explore the city of Paris following the Second World War.

The musical originally premiered at the  Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris in 2014, before transferring to the Palace Theatre on Broadway, where it became the most awarded musical of the 2015/16 season, including four Tony Awards.

It features set and costumes designs by Bob Crowley, lighting by Natasha Katz, sound by Jon Weston and projection designs by 59 Productions.
