NEWS: Mamma Mia! The Party to Return in 2021

The immersive experience is set to return to The O2 in October 2021, having had its run suspended due to the pandemic.

A new booking period has been announced for the London immersive experience, which will continue its run at The O2 from the 1st October 2021.

Created by ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus, Mamma Mia! The Party puts the audiences at the heart of the story as they experience a show, three course meal and a ABBA disco to finish the evening.

Mamma Mia! The Party is set in a taverna on the island of Skopelos, where most exteriors of the first film were shot. Nikos and his wife Kate run this exotic and wonderful restaurant together with their family and friends. Told through dialogue and ABBA songs, a warm, romantic and funny story evolves and unfolds during the evening, taking place around the guests as they sit at their tables enjoying a delicious Greek meal. The evening ends with the main floor transforming into a 1970s disco, where audience members are welcome to stay to  sing and dance to original ABBA recordings.

The production originally opened in Stockholm in 2016, before opening in London in 2019. It is co-directed by Roine Söderlundh and Stacey Haynes, with a story by Calle Norlén, Roine Söderlundh and Björn Ulvaeus, adapted for the UK by writer, comedian and broadcaster Sandi Toksvig.

The original cast starred Fed Zanni as Nikos, Steph Parry as Kate, Joanna Monro as Debbie, AJ Bentley as Adam and Julia Imbach as Konstantina.

Meanwhile, the creative team for the production also includes: set design by Bengt Fröderberg, costumes design by Annsofi Nyberg, lighting design by Patrick Woodroffe and sound design by Gareth Owen.

Mamma Mia! The Party will run at The O2 from the 1st October 2021 until the 3rd April 2022. To book tickets visit: Love Theatre.com, From the Box Office or Theatre Tickets Direct.
