NEWS: Rodger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella Heading to Disney Plus

The 1997 television film version of the musical will be heading to Disney Plus on the 5th March.

It has been confirmed that Disney Plus is releasing the 1997 version of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical for audiences to enjoy at home.

Directed by Robert Iscove and written by Robert I Freedman, this version of the classic fairytale stars Brandy in the title role and Whitney Houston as Fairy Godmother alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Victor Garber, Natalie Desselle Reid, Bernadette Peters, Paolo Montalban, Jason Alexander, and Veanne Cox.

The Rodgers and Hammerstein musical includes the songs “Impossible”, “In My Own Little Corner”, “Ten Minutes Ago”, “A Lovely Night” and “Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful?”. The musical was originally written for television and was originally broadcast in 1957 starring Julie Andrews.

This 1997 television film production originally premiered  to sixty million viewers during “The Wonderful World of Disney” on ABC and earned seven Grammy Award nominations. It features choreography by Rob Rob Marshall and Whitney Houston, Debra Martin Chase, Craig Zadan, and Neil Meron served as executive producers.

Cinderella will be available to watch on Disney Plus in the UK from the 5th March.
