The producers of the musical Fiver have confirmed that a cast recording of the show will be available from the 5th March. It was created as the result of three live-streamed concert versions of the show which took place in November 2020.

FIVER follows the story of a humble £5 note as it passes through the hands and pockets of different people. Often unnoticed, and obviously unaware, the fiver is witness to significant moments in each character’s life – from an appreciation of their skills as a street performer, the start or end of relationships, to the simple realisation that they can afford a bed for the night.

The concerts which took place in November saw the return of the 2019 cast of the production which included Alex James Ellison, who co-wrote the show with Musical Director, Tom Lees. He stars alonside Luke Bayer (Jamie New, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie), Aoife Clesham (Peter Pan International Tour), Alex James Ellison (Dickon, The Secret Garden), Dan Buckley (Ferris, Eugenius!), and Hiba Elchikhe (Princess Jasmine, Disney’s Aladdin).

This musical proved popular with audiences and critics when it premiered at the Southwark Playhouse in 2019. It was nominated or Best Off-West End Musical in the 2019 WhatsOnStage Awards as well as three West End Wilma Awards, in which Luke Bayer won ‘Best Actor’ for his performance.

To celebrate the release of the album, there will be an Instagram Live Listening Party on Thursday 4th March at 7:30pm featuring members of the cast and special guests, during which fans can ask questions and learn more about the history and development of the show whilst enjoying an exclusive listen to the album.

Talking about the news, co-writer and performer Alex James Ellison said: We’re so excited to finally be able to release this album! Fans of the show have been asking for it since our run back in 2019 and I’m so glad we were able to immortalise this production with a live recording. We feel so fortunate to have worked with this amazing cast and thank them for bringing our songs to life!”

The album is available to pre-order now on iTunes. Meanwhile 100 exclusive CD’s are available from www.fivermusical.co.uk and come with a free FIVER poster signed by the cast.
