Two new trailers for the highly anticipated film adaptation of the musical have been released.

Set for release in the UK on the 25th June, two new trailers have been unveiled to give people a new look at the upcoming musical film, based on Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical.

Directed by Jon M. Chu, the musical features a screenplay by Quiara Alegría Hudes (who wrote the original book for the musical) and follows the story of a Hispanic-American community threatened to be redeveloped.

It features music by Lin-Manuel Miranda, whose musical was first seen on Broadway from 2008 to 2011. It then transferred to London’s Southwark Playhouse Theatre in 2014 before transferring to the King’s Cross Theatre, where it ran from 2015 to 2017. It includes the songs ‘96,000’, ‘It Won’t Be Long now’ and ‘Breathe’.

The film is set to star  Anthony Ramos in the lead role of Usnavi alongside: Leslie Grace, Dascha Polanco, Stephanie Beatriz, Corey Hawkins, Melissa Barrera and more, with Lin- Manuel Miranda also appearing as Piragüero.

Meanwhile, In the Heights will feature cinematography by Alice Brooks, costume design by Mitchell Travers and choreography by Christopher Scott.

In The Heights is set to be released in cinemas on the 25th June.
