NEWS: Hairspray the Musical Announces New West End Dates

The production will now begin performances at the London Coliseum from the 22nd June.

It has been announced that the West End revival of the musical will now run at the London Coliseum from the 22nd June until the 29th September.

Directed by Jack O’Brien, the production is set to star  Michael Ball who will return to reprise his Olivier award winning performance as Edna Turnblad alongside Paul Merton who will be making his West End musical debut as Edna’s husband, Wilbur. The cast will also include Lizzie Bea as Tracy Turnblad, Marisha Wallace as Motormouth Maybelle,  Rita Simons (EastEnders) as Velma von Tussle, Ashley Samuels as Seaweed Stubbs and Jonny Amies (Sex Education) as Link Larkin.

Baltimore, 1962. Tracy Turnblad is a big girl with big hair and big dreams. Can she make it on the local TV dance show, win the heart of teen heartthrob Link Larkin and bring everyone together – whatever their colour, size or hairdo? Well if you want a change, you’ve really got to shake things up!

Current ticketholders will be contacted and given a priority booking period for exclusive performances reserved for their use. The first four weeks of the run will take place with social distancing.
