NEWS: Rafe Spall to Star in To Kill A Mockingbird

Aaron Sorkin’s stage adaptation will be heading to the Gielgud Theatre from the 10th March 2022.

It has been announced that Rafe Spall is set to star in Aaron Sorkin’s stage adaptation of Harper Lee’s classic novel, which will now open at the Gielgud Theatre in March 2022. Rafe Spall’s credits includes Death of England on stage and Shaun of the Dead on film and he will now play Atticus Finch in the upcoming West End production, with further casting yet to be announced.

Directed by Bartlett Sher (The King and I), the production opened on Broadway in 2018 where it opened with Jeff Daniels initially in the cast and went on to be nominated for nine Tony Awards, winning one.

Harper Lee’s masterpiece explores racial injustice in America and childhood innocence and was first published in 1960. It was transformed into a film starring Gregory Peck in 1962 which went onto win three Oscars including Best Actor for Gregory Peck.

The creative team for the upcoming production includes designs by Miriam Buether, costumes by Ann Roth, lighting by Jennifer Tipton, sound by Scott Lehrer and an original score by Adam Guettel.

Tickets are set to go on sale on the 6th April 2021, with existing ticket holders being contacted by the production.There will also be over 500 tickets available for each week of the run between £5 and £10. Full details and initiatives to be announced later this year.
