The production is set to begin performances at the London Palladium on the 1st July.
It has been confirmed that Alexandra Burke will be joining the previously announced Jason Donovan (Pharaoh) and Jac Yarrow (Joseph) in the upcoming return of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat as the Narrator.
Burke returns to the West End following her performances in The Bodyguard, Sister Act, Chess and Chicago. She first came to public attention when she won The X Factor in 2008.
Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s musical based on the biblical tale of Joseph and his 11 brothers is set to play at the London Palladium from the 1st July until the 5th September. Given the start date for performances, it has been confirmed that the production will be performing to full capacity in line with the guidance of the Government’s roadmap to easing restrictions.
Talking about the news of the production’s return, producer Michael Harrison said: “The legendary song says “Any Dream Will Do”, but my dream for the past 12 months has been to bring our smash hit production of Joseph back to its spiritual home, The London Palladium. I’m thrilled that dream will soon become a reality.”
First seen at the London Palladium in 2019, Laurence Connor’s production of the musical includes choreography by JoAnn M Hunter, set and costume design by Morgan Large , lighting design by Ben Cracknell and sound design by Gareth Owen.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was first released as a concept album in 1969 and includes the songs Any Dream Will Do, Close Every Door To Me, Jacob and Sons, There’s One More Angel In Heaven and Go Go Go Joseph.
