The world premiere production of Nina Raine’s play will run at the Bridge Theatre from the 23rd June.

It has been announced that Simon Russell Beale will star as JS Bach in the Bridge Theatre’s production of Nina Raine’ Bach & Sons, set to be directed by Nicholas Hytner. With tickets going on sale on the 20th April, the production’s creative team is set to include: associate direction by James Cousins, set designs by Vicki Mortimer, costumes designed by Khadija Raza, lighting by Jon Clark, sound by Gareth Fry and music supervised by George Fenton. Further casting will be announced soon.

This production will follow on from the return of Flight, Vox Motus’s theatre installation which made its London debut at The Bridge last year before lockdown halted the run. It will return to the theatre from the 17th May until the 6th June.  Based on the novel Hinterland by Caroline Brothers, from a private booth audiences are drawn into this tale of orphaned brothers and their desperate odyssey across Europe.

The Bridge Theatre have also announced the European premiere of Suzan-Lori Parks’ White Noise, set to play at the theatre from the 5th October until the 13th November. Directed by Polly Findlay, the play follows four thirty-something year old friends who are as close as anything – until one day one of them is assaulted the police in a racially motivated incident. Shaken, he then brings an extreme proposition to the group.

It has also been confirmed that the eagerly anticipated stage adaptation of Philip Pullman’s The Book of Dust – La Belle Sauvage will head to the stage in December this year. Directed by Nicholas Hytner, the novel has been adapted for the stage by Bryony Lavery. Further details of the production will be announced later this year.
