The production will tour the UK this summer before heading to London’s Arts Theatre.
It has been announced that Lucy Bailey’s production of David Mamet’s play will embark on a UK tour this Summer, opening from the 8th June and visiting Cambridge, Bath, Southampton and Malvern before transferring to the Arts Theatre in London from the 21st July to 23 October 2021.
The production will star Rosie Sheehy (King John at the RSC, Uncle Vanya at the Theatre Clwyd and Sheffield Theatres) as Carol and Jonathan Slinger (Willy Wonka in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Yes, Prime Minister). as John, reprising their roles from its sell-out run at Theatre Royal Bath’s Ustinov Studio last December.
Set on an American campus, a seemingly innocuous conversation between a college professor and his female student warps into a nightmare which threatens to destroy them both, when she files a claim of sexual harassment against him. With its take on the corrosive excesses of political correctness and exploration of the use and abuse of language, this is the ultimate drama of pupil power and student revenge.
Presented by Theatre Royal Bath Productions and Jonathan Church Productions, Oleanna will feature designs by Alex Eales, with lighting by Oliver Fenwick and sound by Jon Nicholls.
