It has been announced that the company’s production will return to the Royal Albert Hall in 2022.
The production will play at the Royal Albert Hall from the 12th January 2022, with Cirque Du Soleil celebrating 25 years since first bringing its production Saltimbanco to the London venue.
With tickets on sale now, Luzia takes audiences on a surrealistic journey through a vibrant world filled with wonders, playfulness and striking artistry. The production brings to the stage multiple places, faces and sounds of Mexico taken from both tradition and modernity.
Luzia is Cirque Du Soleil’s 38th show and uses contemporary and traditional circus disciplines including Cyr Wheel artists performing under the rain, while an aerialist suspended from a Trapeze flies and twirls through pouring showers while hoop diving is taken onto gigantic treadmills. Other highlights include a male contortionist twisting his body in the world’s most unimaginable positions, an Aerial Straps specialist defying the laws of gravity at the centre of a cenote (natural sinkhole), a juggler tossing seven pins at breakneck speed, and two football freestylers deftly mixing street dance with ball manipulation.
Last seen at the Royal Albert Hall in 2020, Luzia features a cast of 44 artists. Further details of the cast have yet to be announced.
