The musical, which had its run cut short in London at the beginning of the pandemic, will play at the Shaftesbury Theatre for a limited 10 week run.
It has been announced that Be More Chill will have a West End run, playing at the Shaftesbury Theatre from the 30th June for a limited 10 week season.
Prior to its brief London run at The Other Palace Theatre which was cut short due to the pandemic, the musical had successful runs on Broadway and Off-Broadway. It is based on the novel of the same name by Ned Vizzini.
Be More Chill features a book by Joe Tracz and Tony Award-nominated original score by Joe Iconis including the songs ‘More Than Survive’ and ‘Michael in the Bathroom’.The production is directed by Stephen Brackett, with choreography by Chase Brock, set design by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Bobby Frederick Tilley, lighting design by Tyler Micoleau, sound design by Ryan Rumery and projection design by Alex Basco Koch.
Be More Chill tells the atypical love story of a boy, a girl….and the supercomputer inside the boy’s head guiding him every step of the way. The boy; desperate to be loved. The girl; longing to be noticed. And the supercomputer…just wants to take over the world.
It has also been confirmed that the original London cast will be reprising their roles including: Blake Patrick Anderson (Michael Mell), Miracle Chance (Christine Canigula), Stewart Clarke (The Squip), Eloise Davies (Brooke Lohst), Scott Folan (Jeremy Heere), Christopher Fry (Mr Heere, Mr Reyes and others), James Hameed (Rich Goranski), Gabriel Hinchliffe (Ensemble), Renée Lamb (Jenna Rolan), Eve Norris (Ensemble), Millie O’Connell (Chloe Valentine) and Miles Paloma (Jake Dillinger).
Be More Chill will run at the Shaftesbury Theatre from the 30th June until the 5th September. Tickets are on sale now.
