A new trailer has been released for the film based on the musical which will be seen in cinemas from October.
Based on the hit Broadway musical, the cast for the new film adaptation is set to be led by original Tony-winning star Ben Platt as the title character. He stars alongside Julianne Moore as Heidi, Kaitlyn Dever as Zoe, Amy Adams as Cynthia, Amandla Stenberg as Alana, Nik Dodani as Jared, Colton Ryan as Connor, and Danny Pino as Larry. DeMarius Copes, Gerald Caesar, Tommy Kane, Avery Bederman, Liz Kate and Isaac Powell are also to feature.
The film is directed by Stephen Chbosky, with Steven Levenson having adapted the screenplay from his original stage version. It is also set to feature the music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, while it is set to be produced by Marc Platt, and Adam Siegel through Marc Platt Productions, with Pasek and Paul executive-producing.
This Tony Award winning musical follows the story of Evan whose self-penned letter to himself ends up in the wrong hands leading to a lie that was never meant to be told and giving him a chance to fit in with those around him. It includes the songs ‘Waving Through a Window’ and ‘You Will Be Found’.
The release of the trailer for the film follows on from the news that the West End production of the musical will be resuming from the 26th October, with the Broadway production returning from December.
Dear Evan Hansen will be heading to UK cinemas from the 22nd October.
