First Look at… Dorian: A Rock Musical

The new musical based on Oscar Wilde’s The picture of Dorian Gray will be streaming from the 16th July until the 12th August.

First look images have been released for the upcoming Dorian: A Rock Musical, which will begin streaming later this month.

Created by Ruby in the Dust, this new musical follows on from the company’s Gatsby A Musical and reimagine’s Oscar Wilde’s classic story as a glam rock musical.

Directed and written by Linnie Reedman, the cast for Dorian: A Rock Musical is set to be led by Bart Lambert in the title role. He is joined by John Addison, Fia Houston-Hamilton, Robert Grose, Johanna Stanton, Sophie Jugé and Tristan Pegg.

A rock star, trapped in eternal adolescence, wants to change the course of his life and discover love. But, can you find love if you’ve sold your soul to the Devil? Whilst sitting for the eccentric society painter, Basil Hallward, Dorian is discovered by the influential Lord Henry and is soon under the spell of this dangerous, charismatic music impresario. Dorian, the secret child of love and death, is suddenly thrust into a confusing world where love dare not speak its name.

Talking about being part of the cast, Bart Lambert said: “I’m so excited to be part of this project, it’s always a pleasure to shed a new light on a classic story, and the evocative world of Dorian Gray is the most pleasurable of
them all. After the year we’ve had I think we can all do with a bit of Rock and Roll right now!”

The musical (filmed and streamed at Cadogan Hall) features music and lyrics by Joe Evans, with the creative team including: lighting by Jai Morjaria, costume design by Belle Mundi, movement direction by Anthony Whiteman and assistant movement direction by Penelope Simons.
