The popular musical will be extending for a month playing until 26th September before taking a pause and returning to the West End in 2022.
Having recently celebrated its 1000th performance, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie has confirmed that it will be taking a short break from the West End stage before returning in 2022.
In addition, it has been confirmed that the UK tour will recommence its travels around the country, opening at The Lowry from the 1st September and visiting 24 venues including a four-week Christmas season in Brighton. The tour will also pause for six weeks in January as the show opens in Los Angeles for a run at the Ahmanson Theatre. The UK tour will then recommence playing to the end of May 2022.
Directed by Jonathan Butterell, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is inspired by a documentary about Jamie Campbell, who wanted to be a drag queen at the age of 16. A film adaptation of the musical is set to be released globally on Amazon Prime on the 17th September 2021.
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie features music by Dan Gillespie Sells, book and lyrics by Tom MacRae and direction by Jonathan Butterell. The creative team also includes: design by Anna Fleischle, choreography by Kate Prince, lighting design by Lucy Carter, sound design by Paul Groothuis, casting by Will Burton, musical supervision by Theo Jamieson, musical direction by Ben Holder and video design by Luke Halls.
