The production will play at the Orange Tree Theatre from the 28th August.

Casting has been announced for the Orange Tree Theatre’s upcoming production of Athol Fugard’s Statements After an Arrest Under the Immorality Act. Directed by JMK Award Winner Diane Page, the show will star: Scarlett Brookes (Frieda), Richard Sutton (Detective Sergeant du Preez)and Shaq Taylor (Errol).

Frieda and Errol meet in darkness. Theirs is a love story that can never thrive in the light.A relationship interrupted, by white supremacist law. And then at the end as at the beginning, they will find you again. Guilty. A play about then that speaks to now.

This production sees the theatre continuing its partnership with The JMK Trust to provide director Diane Page the opportunity to direct a full-scale production that forms part of its Recovery Season.  

The creative team behind the production includes: Designer Niall McKeever, Lighting Designer Rajiv Pattani, and Sound Designer and Composer Esther Kehinde Ajayi.

 Statements After an Arrest Under the Immorality Act will play at the Orange Tree Theatre from the 28th August until the 2nd October.
